Picture it: Birdwood in the 1940s – a time of change, music, and of course, table tennis. That’s when it all began for us.
We have a diverse group of players (of all ages and skill levels) who range from being really passionate about table tennis, to some who just enjoy getting out for a casual and friendly/social hit!
The club later amalgamated to become ‘Birdwood Mount Pleasant Table Tennis Club’. By 1987, we had joined the Barossa and Light Association, and in that year, we experienced our first premiership.
In the first 50 years of the club’s operation (through to 1998), we moved venues multiple times, and there were 275 players that represented the club in that time span.
We are a family orientated club, with some families even participating as teams at the club! Throughout the club’s history, there’s even been a few people that have met through the club, and have gotten married!
So, the club is somewhat thriving! We might even be the only club in the State that has our own little mini club room!
We’re also always looking for ways to run the club more smoothly, or improve the club for it’s members and players!
Beyond the sport, we're all about building connections. Come for the ping pong, stay for the friendships and great times.
Our club is kitted out with top-notch tables and all the bells and whistles to make your games enjoyable.
If you're into a bit of friendly competition, we've got regular tournaments and events you can participate in.
Our coaches are experienced and dedicated. They're here to help you whether you're just starting or looking to up your game.
We're believe in nurturing young talent. Our youth programs are designed to help kids fall in love with table tennis and grow their skills.
